The townhouse at 55 Green Street sits steeped in the history of Mayfair, whose grand squares and elegant streets have long been home to London’s most influential figures.

Set in a row of imposing red brick mansions, the townhouse at number 55 stands out from the crowd with an entrance crowned with eye-catching brickwork motifs. Behind the front door lie five story-book floors full of hidden rooms, winding stairs and stolen views over the rooftops of London, a creative quirkiness fitting for a street that has been home to artists, writers and designers – even the Beatles lived next door for a time.
But this is not a house stuck in the past. When invited to turn a striking but empty space into a welcoming family home, Anna Daccache, design director of Atelier ADA wanted its interiors to mirror the city she loves, capturing both its history and its focus on the future.
“I carefully blended classic and modern styles, drawing on the building’s past, but thinking always of creating a modern family home,” said Anna.
Against a palate of sophisticated greys that highlight a treasure trove of architectural features, Anna introduced bold injections of colour to add life and energy, and transform an elegant space into a sophisticated family home.
